  • Weddings at the District Winery start at $25,000 but varies depending on time of year and day of the week.
  • The food and beverage minimum varies from $25,000 - $45,000.
  • Their wedding package includes private use of the mezzanine, second floor, and terrace. Venue Information

Update: See how they're handling COVID-19!

The District Winery is (unsurprisingly) another one of my favorite DC wedding venues. Located along the Anacostia River, they describe this urban winery as a "modern, sophisticated, waterfront wedding venue with floor to ceiling windows, an outdoor terrace, and sweeping waterfront views."

The winery itself accommodates private events up to 200 guests and includes a variety of charming spaces for wedding portraits. You also have access to the adjacent Yards Park which offers a completely different aesthetic. It's a win-win for convenience and epic photos.

Other Common Questions

Who should I hire for photography?

Well, let's just say I'm possibly available :)

Will they provide the wine?

So, you're asking if a winery will provide the wine? That's cool. No judgement from me.

The answer is a resounding yes, and it's all made on site!

When and where can we take photos?

We can take photos throughout the winery as early as two hours before the wedding begins. I recommend doing both the couple portraits as well the family group photos during this time.

Two of the best spots in the winery for portraits are the barrel room and the terrace, and family and friend groupings are best done on the second floor or the terrace. The adjacent Yards Park also offers many opportunities to create unique images.

What spaces do we have for our wedding and reception?

You and your guests have exclusive access to the mezzanine, second floor, and second floor terrace. The mezzanine doesn't have much natural light, but makes up for it with its ambiance, an overhead view of the barrel room and restaurant, and its two(!) wine closets.

The second floor has floor to ceiling windows which provide ample natural light for indoor ceremonies, as well as a lovely view of Yards Park.

The wrap-around terrace includes a large deck area and continues along the front and side of the building. This area includes comfy couches and a fire pit. It's the perfect spot to escape the loud music and craziness of dancing.

Can we choose our own vendors?

Yes! You can choose your wedding professionals (with the exception catering, alcohol, lighting, and sound). Bring the cake, bring the photographer, bring the band, bring the flowers, bring the DJ, and more!

Can my dog be the ring bearer?

Unfortunately, pets aren't allowed. So while you can bring a photo booth, you can't bring your doggy kissing booth. If you really want some pet representation at your wedding, you can do what one of my couples did:

Is there parking near District Winery?

There's a small parking lot right next to the winery, as well as three parking garages within walking distance.

There is also limited street parking available but it's very hard to find a spot on weekends since Yards Park is a popular spot.

What do we do if there's inclement weather?

In other words, what if it rains?

Your wedding ceremony can easily be moved inside or under the retractable canopy on the terrace. You can also use the canopy on hot, sunny days to protect your guests from the UV rays.
