Old Town Waterfront in Alexandria, VA was a been seaport for generations and has great views of the Potomac River. There are a variety of spots where you can propose including up against the water, on the docks, at the gazeobs, or at the historic Jones Point Lighthouse a little farther south from Waterfront Park.

Here are some photos from propoasls at these locations.

You can read about more places to propose in my Where to Propose in Washington DC Guide, as well as see some more photos from a Jones Point proposal.

Waterfront Park

There was a violinist for this proposal right off camera. If you're intersting in hiring a violinist Ingrid on Strings is excellent.

Jones Point Park

The Jones Point Lighthouse was built in 1855 and is the last remaining riverine lighthouse in Virginia. There are a lot of interesting spots (both classic and modern) for portraits at and around the lighthouse.

King Street Park

I'm not a huge fan of gazebos because the lighting can be diffificult and unflattering at certain times of day, but this one turned out excellent becuse it was slightly overcast.

King Street

This proposal was in February and it was super cold out, but again, she said yes! We also managed to get a few leftover Christmas decoration in the photos.
