Washington, D.C. is home to some of the most consequential policy conversations in the country, and Water Power Week 2026 was no exception. Held March 9-13 at the Westin DC Downtown, this flagship annual gathering of the National Hydropower Association brought together senior executives, regulators, federal agency leaders, lobbyists, and clean energy advocates from across North America. With high-profile speakers including Senator Lisa Murkowski, FERC Chair Laura V. Swett, and Jake Sherman - co-founder of Punchbowl News - the energy in the room matched the stakes of the industry's biggest policy and regulatory issues. It was an honor to return as the official photographer for the third year in a row.
Events like Water Power Week present a genuinely dynamic photography challenge. A single day can take you from wide ballroom plenary sessions packed with hundreds of attendees, to intimate breakout discussions, to fast-moving networking receptions where the real conversations happen between industry leaders. My goal at every corporate conference is to capture not just the formal moments - the keynote speakers at the podium, the panel Q&As, the awards - but the authentic energy that makes an event worth attending: the hallway handshakes, the candid laughter, the moments where policy meets personality.
If you're an association, organization, or company looking for professional event photography coverage in the D.C. area, I'd love to work with you. Whether it's a multi-day conference like Water Power Week or a single-day summit, I bring experience photographing the full range of Washington's professional event landscape - and I deliver a polished gallery your communications and marketing teams can put to work right away. Feel free to reach out through chrisferenzi.com to discuss your upcoming event.
